New RAM truck models come with a huge variety of configuration options, starting with the powertrain. The base powertrain is a 3.6-liter V6 engine that makes 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. Also available are:
- 5.7-liter V8 engine: 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque
- 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine: 260 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque
- Supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine: 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque
If you’re looking to tow a heavy load, the RAM 1500 is up to the task. The maximum towing capacity is 13,000 pounds and the hauling capacity is over 2,000 pounds.
