Drivetrain Details 

If power is what you’re after, you’ll be happy with what the RAM 2500 delivers. The truck is available with two engines: a 6.4-liter V8 powerplant and an available turbocharged 6.7-liter six-cylinder diesel engine. Output for the gas engine comes in at 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque. The diesel engine delivers a whopping 850 lb-ft of torque and 370 horsepower. 

An eight-speed automatic transmission pairs with the V8 engine while an equally smooth-shifting six-speed automatic transmission is standard with the diesel engine. A class-exclusive coil-spring suspension is standard, which sets the truck apart from competing pickups that have a leaf-spring suspension. You can opt for the available air suspension for an even smoother ride.

The gas engine offers a 4,000-lb maximum payload and a 17,730-lb maximum towing capacity, while the diesel engine allows the truck to haul up to 3,150 lb and tow up to 19,990 lb.
